Is there a way to install the Netcraft Anti-Phishing Toolbar? I do appreciate that the browser is locked down to prevent the bad boys from having their way with Firefox and KNOS. I do find the information provided in this toolbar helpful when checking on a web site.
For instance, it does identify the country of origin which can be VERY interesting at times.
later....

Piece of cake. It's an add-on for both Firefox and Chromium, it's properly vetted AND white-listed already. Go to the add-ons item, search for "Netcraft Anti-Phishing Toolbar" and install it. You'll need to restart the browser to wake it up, but once you do, it'll be there for you. Gets better too if you have KNOS installed to a hard disk, USB stick of 8GB or larger, or if you use a separate USB stick to store files on - go to Applications up top, then System tools, and then "Back up app settings" - KNOS will store your settings, plugins, add-ons and all and automatically bring them back into KNOS every time you boot so long as the drive that you save those settings to is connected when you boot up KNOS. If you're running solely from the DVD, then you'd have to redo that every time. But if you back up your settings, it'll be there for you!

If there is more than one way to try something, I will try the one that doesn't work!
I do have the Netcraft Anti-Phishing bar installed and working now. Thanks!

New behavior for Netcraft Anti-Phishing Toolbar - "Toolbar Server Error: Gateway Time-out" When I was at www.hulu.com, the Netcraft Toolbar showed the message "Toolbar Server Error: Gateway Time-out" At first I thought that might be a security feature of KNOS. I did find the same message when visiting www.hulu.com with Firefox with OS X 10.6. Soooo, it is still interesting. I am beginning to wonder if some websites have done something that is blocking access by Netcraft.

Sounds to me as though perhaps either netcraft or your ISP was having problems reaching their server. Just a guess though. You might want to hit their forum and ask what it's about ... definitely sounds like their end to me though ...
