""In the release version, there will be an icon in the Internet group of apps on the main menu marked "Vidalia" ... this will be what you'll be using to run TOR instead of our trial using the terminal, all nice and neat""
Yesterday, I could not get Vidalia to get past 'Loading Network Status' - it would just stop about half-way. Earlier today it went all the way quickly, and Firefox and foxyproxy worked as advertised. Just now it stopped again about half-way. I haven't yet figured out what I'm doing different.

I doubt it's anything on your end ... TOR can get slow and overloaded now and then. Only thing you can do is close it down and try again. I've encountered that every now and then as well.

On page 14 of the KNOS9 Manual, it says to verify TOR "is setup and working properly" by clicking on the TOR Onion on the bottom of the KNOS homepage: In both Chromium, and FF, I see 8 icons on the bottom, but neither TOR or Vidalia is among them - am I looking in the wrong place?

Sorry for the confusion, meant the first icon in the bottom row of that collection of icons on the new welcome page which should come up when your browser starts: www.knosproject.com/Portal/welcome.htmlThe vertical row on the left is KNOS stuff, it's the one on the bottom that uses the TOR onion logo, first on the left of the bottom row there. If you hold your mouse over each icon, it'll tell you what each is for and where it'll take you - this one says "Check your TOR connection." If you've changed your start page in KNOS to something else, then the direct link to check if TOR is set up properly is this: check.torproject.org/To paraphrase the movie "Ghostbusters," "If it's green, you're clean."
