I'm so happy to be running one of Kevin's creations again! (I'll never forget that you, Kevin and Nancy, are the best team I ever had the pleasure to work with; and I've worked with hundreds of software developers and publishers).
KNOS looks great. It loaded faster than the 3-5 minutes you prepared me for, seems to run wonderfully and has about everything I think I need. I do need to figure out the WIFI portion, as it did not detect any WIFI "whatevers" (I wasn't paying attention), but I'm sure that's going to be easy.
I look forward to thrashing about and letting you know what I love (and otherwise) about it. And when I get bored with my own machine, maybe I'll head down to the local library to see how it runs on their new machines ;-)

And when I get bored with my own machine, maybe I'll head down to the local library to see how it runs on their new machines ;-) Well HOWDY, stranger! Sorry I haven't been around this week - working on the next release and the weather here has been awful. Since we don't have air conditioning here, it's been beyond difficult to focus and the code had to come first. Thanks for the kind words too! As for the kickup time, it varies tremendously on how fast the hardware and in particular that DVD drive is as to how quickly we can get KNOS on the screen. Some folks have been playing with it booting off a USB stick and there it almost matches hard disk speed for most people. Sorry to hear there are potential issues with the Wifi - that and some other exotic hardware are the reason for this step before we "get real" with this. We've tested it with everything we could find prior to this first release, but there's always more hardware out there that nobody anticipated the quirks for. That's why this shakedown cruise and another one to follow based on what we've learned so far. If you're unable to get the Wifi to work after you play some more, I'll want to have you run the diagnostics and squirt us an email so I can figure out what needs to be fixed for you and others with similar hardware. If you click on the "Unable to get connected?" item on the main browser start page in KNOS, it'll walk you through how to do that and get us a copy of all that your hardware is doing and from that we can hopefully figure it out for you in time for the next build which is only a couple of weeks away. We need to get it out the end of the month to replace the existing copy about to expire. Glad to see you've joined us, I've always appreciated your help over all these years!
