I am posting after having booted into KNOS beta 2.... Is there any way to block the ads that I can see when viewing the forums on the KNOS Project page?

Got it up and running!
On the first boot, KNOS2 did seem to take longer to boot than KNOS1 on the desktop, but I'll try it a few more times here and on the laptop before I jump to that conclusion.
Thanks!!

Greetings!
We're doing some "experimental" in this build prior to committing new code to the kernel. There's about 10-15 second additional load time outside the kernel for a video driver (cuse4bsd) which you'll see on the startup, and there's also a webcam device search (webcamd) which needs a ten second timeout if it doesn't find a USB webcam connected. We added these for our new Skype support in hope of being able to support videoconferencing via Skype, wanted to do that separately just in case it doesn't work out. So that does add a few seconds to startup. If the new modules DO work out, they'll be in the kernel itself for the next build and we'll be back to normal. I didn't have any other way to do that experiment at this time so I figured this would be a good place to try it out for now.

Thanks!! OK ... as to the delay - in addition to the expected 10 seconds for the webcam not showing up, there's apparently a detect issue with the sound card in that toy of yours ... I'm guessing that we failed on detecting it and fell back from hdac mode o pcm mode, and that should be working. Once again, the diagnostics info should help the audio folks to track down the why there, but wanted to know if you at least have sound out of our fallback position?

No, no sound. I so rarely use sound on the laptop that I don't even notice its absence.
