Hi Kevin,
just in case they are of use to you, I am emailing diags from KNOS2 from both laptop and desktop, as I did for KNOS1. They are both taken while running KNOS2 on disk, if there is any info that may differ when running from the stick that could be of use, let me know and I will send.

And ... finally had a chance to review them ... some promising stuff but we're not there yet. I'll also use your diags to answer your question about the additional time under that message in order to make it a little easire for others to follow along among the specifics.
Some GOOD news and some bad news ... we're finally detecting that Broadcom wifi, but there's a firmware problem:
Aug 12 10:09:30 KNOS-32bit kernel: bwi_v3_ucode: could not load firmware image, error 17 Aug 12 10:09:30 KNOS-32bit kernel: bwi0: request firmware bwi_v3_ucode failed Aug 12 10:09:30 KNOS-32bit kernel: bwi0: bwi_init_statechg: error 12 on MAC init
The Dell 1390 wifi is finally getting detected, but the firmware code that it wants to see is very old and not included in the driver. I'll get this back to Jeung who is working on it and have him get that code into the driver for our next build. The diagnostics tell us exactly what's wrong, and he's already aware of this possibility. Knowing that it's an init error will help him fix this. THANKS!!!
I'll put the other info as to the delay you noticed into that other thread ...

While the extra time to boot is noticeable on both the laptop and the desktop when running from disk, it is not when running from stick.

It'll be saner on the next build ... kinda sad how slow DVD's are though as compared to memory sticks or hard disks. But the security of doing it on a puck just can't be beat.
