Kind regards, Baserk

L.S. I've tried to run KNOS beta 2 on an old laptop; PentiumM 1.6GHz, 1GB. It will load partially but after the message; ' KNOS will login FOR you' it halts at ' Login:' ISO md5 checked, CD checked, is my hardware to meager? Kind regards, Baserk Greetings and thanks for trying it out! Sorry to hear things went sideways there, sounds like we've got a little Bronx handshake happening there. Based on the small amount of information so far, it SOUNDS as though you've got enough memory and a pentium-class or better CPU. And since you got all the way past the bootup stage, sounds like you almost made it. Where it stopped on you is right where it's done booting and goes into graphics mode and somehow that didn't happen. And since you didn't make it to the desktop, diagnostics isn't easily available there without doing some truly geeky things standing on your head in order to check the logs. Soooo ... if you can tell me what brand and model number that lappie is, I'll try to look up the technical details and get back to you. The problem appears to be that the video card in there isn't being detected properly and with just about all bootup problems with BSD and KNOS, it *might* be easily fixed with a BIOS setting. But before we go in that direction, get me the make and model number and I'll see what we can do for you. Wouldn't want that disk to turn into a useless puck on you there.
