What does "derevving protocol......from 2 to 0" mean? Hiya! Glad to see you got running there. You're seeing that on the "insane levels of blabber" on the bootup - that's a decision made by BSD's kernel as to how to best address a USB port based on the BIOS and its USB layers. It actually has nothing to do with speed, but rather how close to the CPU the chain of motherboard communications is. If it's not a direct connection, and goes through an ATA layer, then it steps back to what is called "buffer mode" ... that's purely internal machine language handling as to how KNOS is supposed to talk to the USB stuff. I could go into the specifics, but it's extremely boring. Heh. The reason for all of that is that we've had a few people who couldn't get KNOS booted past a bunch of low level ACPI stuff, and so every single nuance and decision tree during the boot process is shown there in all its ugly glory just in case boot should fail for some reason so that we can go back to the source code and figure out what might have driven a particular machine over the cliff. Rest assured that it isn't a concern - if KNOS boots, than all of that is nothing more than drivel. It's only in there in case we encounter a machine with BIOS issues in hopes that we can turn that over to the BSD kernel people so they can fix it.
