I booted up and logged in within 5 minutes. No problems. I am using FF, but was wondering how to find the new browser you mentioned as being included in beta 3. Also, how do i save information as per 'notepad ' in Windows. I have noticed the "sticky notes" icon at the top of the page. Is that an alternative to notepad? I am quite impressed with this version...it has come a long way since the beta 2 version, not that I can remember that much of it.

The "sticky notes" is something I added for my own use during development and thought it a handy thing for others to use and so left it in there. It's intended to hold a quick note or reminder such as a phone number or in my case, what line of code I left off at if I step away for a minute or two. Sorta like a fast scratchpad or literal "post it note" kind of thing. If you want to read or write text, then gedit serves nicely as a replacement for notepad, and if you really want to do a document like MS Word, we have Open Office Writer and the rest of the Open Office suite for your Microsoft Office-like needs. There's a bunch of really nice and handy stuff in KNOS that pretty much comprises all you'd need on a "real" computer already in it. As to saving documents, all you need is a USB stick, and just save it there. You can retrieve from it as well any time right back into a freshly-booted KNOS. I've been using ONLY KNOS since late 2006 myself. Never went back to Windows aside from storing emails myself.
